If your gums are bleeding when you brush or floss your teeth it could be you are in the initial stages of gum disease. Gingivitis, which is the early onset of gum disease, can be devastating to your oral health so it is very important to seek the advice of your dentist if you have bleeding gums in conjunction with any of the following symptoms:

- Red or swollen gums
- Tender or bleeding gums
- Painful chewing
